CHILDHOOD

The Childhood that people experience plays a major role in the character development of everybody. Both Jesus and Clark Kent share similiarities in their childhood as they both showed instances that there was something special about them. These instances pave the road for the path that the two go down as adults

Jesus Christ was sent from heaven by his father "God" down to earth to which he was born in Bethlehem. For the most part Jesus lived the average childhood of a Jewish boy in Nazareth but that doesn't mean that there were not moments that hinted that there was something special about him. In (Luke 2:40, NRSV) it says "The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him." This scripture verse plays into (Luke 2:46-47, NRSV) which says " After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.". WIthin this gospel we hear about a time that Jesus stood out as special. While most people in their youth would be running around playing games with their friends, Jesus was intrigued by the religious teachers and he amazed them with the wisdomhe gave within his responses.

Kal-El (Superman) was sent to earth by his biological parents because his home of Krypton was going to be destroyed. He ended up arriving in Smallville, Kansas to which he was found by a farming couple who took him in and named him Clark Kent, raising him as if they were their own. Superman appeared as a normal American boy but he and some others knew there was something special about him. In the "Man of Steel" movie ,when Clark was a little boy he was overwhelmed his Superpowers and had a panic attack. Everyone viewed him as a freak as ran out of class and hid in the janitors closet. He refused to leave and even made the door nob so hot that it wouldve been impossible for someone to open. When Clark's mother ultimately comes to the school to get him to come out he asks his mom, "what's wrong with me, mom". This instance along with others within the Superman franchise show that Clark was special from birth and had struggles in dealing with them.
